CHS Hosts School to Career Advisory Meetings
Comsewogue HSOn Thursday, November 14th, Comsewogue High School hosted its first School to Career Advisory Committee meeting to discuss ways in which the business program, courses, and curriculum can help students with their career paths and become productive members of the community. The Committee currently consists of administrators, teachers, business professionals, industry leaders, community members, parents, and students.

During their first meeting, over 40 members of the School to Career Advisory Committee discussed valuable skills needed for employment in the 21st century, and how current courses such as Virtual Enterprise can prepare students for college and career readiness. Additionally, the Committee provided input on how events such as mock interview days, job shadowing, guest speakers, and possible internships, can provide students with opportunities that will give them the valuable experiences needed to become successful in their futures.

The goal of the School to Career Advisory Committee is to work with professionals and the community to get students to explore the different opportunities that are available to them, and to give students a chance to think about life after high school. The next meeting for the Committee is currently scheduled for January 7th and new members are always more than welcome to attend.
