SMS Messaging

Comsewogue School District has introduced SMS Messaging through SchoolMessenger Communicate as an additional way for you to receive important notifications and information. A flyer can also be found at the bottom of this page (link for app users).

Please note that it is very important that your contact information is kept up-to-date at all times in SchoolTool. These are the phone numbers and email addresses we use to contact you. If you need to update your contact information, please contact your child's school.

How Do I Sign Up?

You will automatically receive a text message from the number 67587 asking if you would like to opt in to our SMS messaging. Reply with Y or Yes to confirm that you want to receive messages.

Please note that during the initial setup, everyone with a cell phone number in our records will receive the opt-in message. If your cell phone number is added later on, you will receive an opt-in message the next morning. The initial opt-in message was sent out and delivered on Monday, March 22 around 11:00 AM.

You can text Y or Yes to 67587 at any time to opt in.

What Messages Will I Receive?

You will receive a link to listen to a phone call from Dr. Quinn or your child's Building Principal when they send a phone call. You may also receive these links via email.

You may also receive other messages with important information and update regarding upcoming events, emergency alerts, absence alerts and more. Please note that these message types will not all initially be available, but may be rolled out in the future.

Additionally, if you have downloaded the SchoolMessenger App, you can view any email and SMS messages there. Visit this page on our website to learn more about the SchoolMessenger App and how you can use it to view past messages, set preferences for different notification types and more.

Can I Opt Out?

Yes. To opt out of our SMS messaging at any time, simply text the word STOP to the same number, 67587.
