LISFA Students Honored at BOE Meeting

Students from LISFA being recognized at the Board of Education Meeting.

Students from four of our schools were honored at the February 5, 2024 Board of Education Meeting were honored for being selected to LISFA (Long Island String Festival Association). LISFA is an organization that allows students throughout Suffolk County to perform with students from numerous other schools at a concert in January. Students perform a variety of pieces in different orchestras with others in their grade level group.

Comsewogue is proud each year to acknowledge students who have the opportunity to participate in this ensemble. Charlotte Karson and Penelope Preddice were both selected from Boyle Road Elementary School, led by their teacher Ms. Arielle Victor. Jacob Susino and Annabelle Troy, led by orchestra teacher Ms. Alison Tramontana, were each selected from Terryville Road Elementary School.

A large group of students from JFK Middle School, led by orchestra teacher Ms. Lisa Saladino, had the opportunity to participate, including Brooke Anderson, Emma D'Agostino, Adeline Jaklitsch, Charlotte Jaklitsch, Andrew Kosak, Olivia Over, Layla Preddice, Matthew Perrone, Michael Rotundo, Paige Stonehill and Stephanie Wuertz. From Comsewogue High School, Elliott Jaklitsch, Ruby Preddice, Gabriella Soares, Maya Swierupski and Jiaqi Wang were all recognized, led by their teacher Ms. Elaine Holmes.
