At the Board of Education's regular monthly meeting on January 10, 2024, fifteen students were recognized for their recent accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.

A group of students in the business program at Comsewogue High School recently competed at the Suffolk County Regional DECA Competition, with many of the students earning awards for their outstanding finishes. Students competed in different categories including Principles of Business Management and Administration, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism, Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hotel and Lodging Management, Quick Service Restaurant Management, Automotive Services, Food Marketing, Sports and Entertainment and Personal Financial Literacy. Jace Mas, Sophia Deja, Mahreen Anwar, Reese Agarenzo, Brandon Bermingham, Brayden Arias, Dylan Rocchio, Aryana Spence, Kyle Buck, James Lanze, Sophia Gregorio, Vincent Oliveto and Vincent Cutaia were all honored by the Board.

Senior student-athlete Kaeden West was recognized for receiving the prestigious Thomas Cutinella Leadership Award. The Thomas Cutinella Leadership Award is given annually to the Suffolk County Football Player that demonstrates leadership both in and out of school, and is someone who finds time to volunteer and give back to community all while excelling academically.
