Terryville’s Ms. Reilly Honored as 2026 ASSET "Bright Light"
Terryville Road Elementary School is proud to announce that Library Media Specialist Meaghan Reilly has been named a 2026 Bright Light by the Association of Suffolk Supervisors for Educational Technologies (ASSET).
This prestigious regional award recognizes educators who demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation in using technology to enhance the learning experience. Ms. Reilly was nominated by Dr. Don Heberer, District Administrator of Instructional Technology (and ASSET Past President), and Dr. Annemarie Sciove, Principal of Terryville Road Elementary.
Ms. Reilly is known as an innovative educator who is always willing to embrace new technology and ideas. Her impact at Terryville Road reaches far beyond the library, through initiatives such as the Hour of Code, pioneering the Lego Robotics Club, and jump-starting the Project Lead The Way (PLTW) curriculum. Organizing the school’s Spelling Bee and Math competitions. She established a Faculty and Staff Book Club to foster a culture of lifelong learning among her peers. Whether she is mentoring a student through a coding challenge or leading a staff discussion, Ms. Reilly has a unique ability to bring out the best in everyone around her.
The achievement was celebrated on Friday, Jan. 23, at the Annual Bright Light Luncheon held at the Heritage Club in Bethpage. The event brought together educators from across Long Island to recognize those making a meaningful impact on their school communities.
"Ms. Reilly is a true inspiration to our students, staff, and the entire community," said Dr. Don Heberer. "We are so proud of what she has accomplished in just four short years. We can’t wait to see what she does next!"
